Looking for Meditation information? You came to the right place.

Fortune favors the prepared mind

Meditation information on the internet sometimes can get confusing. In this section of my site I will try to give you what you need to have a clear understanding of what meditation is and what it can do for you.

What is Meditation?

Well meditation is a form of mental exercise in which a person will focus there attention on a sound or chanted word, an object, a visualization, there own breath or movement (such as in Tai Chi & Yoga).

This is done in order to reduce stress, improve concentration, promote relaxation and enhance your own personal and spiritual growth.

There is another common form of meditation called “mindfulness meditation”. In this style of meditation you are meant to be aware of ALL thoughts, feelings, sensations and the environment around you. The practice of this style goes better for people who are already proficient at quieting the mind.

This is an interesting topic and one that I have a strong passion for. Meditation has been a big part of my life since I was a teenager. I started training Tai Chi at the age of 13 because I was very interested in the spiritual side of the art and what the body was capable of when the mind was trained.

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Originally, it was intended to help develop spiritual understanding and awareness. Now it is still used for spiritual practices as well as a method of relieving stress and pain.

When looking at meditation information you will find that meditation is also important in the treatment and prevention of many stress-related conditions and has been shown to help with many illnesses. For example anxiety disorders, substance abuse recovery, ulcers and chronic pain can benefit greatly from adding meditation to there treatment.

Other problems that meditation can help prevent are hypertension also known as high blood pressure, cardiac arrest, asthma and the possibility of having a stroke. This is because of the role stress plays in these conditions.

Also due to the concentration and focus that is developed with meditation, in conjunction with its stress reducing properties it also can help many neurological problems such as Parkinson’s, epilepsy as well as people who suffer from fatigue and a complete lack of energy.

Over the next month I will be adding several meditative techniques and practices on this section of the site. So bookmark us and come back.
